- ZAIMOGLU, Feridun
- Feridun Zaimoglu was
born in Turkey in 1964 and moved with his parents to Germany in
1965, where he has lived in Kiel since 1985. After studying art
and medicine, he now is a freelance journalist, writer of screenplays,
and author, whose literary debut Kanak Sprak in 1995 was
a popular success, supported by Zaimoglu's public "macho"
persona; however, he is also increasingly involved as a political
essayist. In 2005 he was awarded the Adelbert-von-Chamisso Prize.
