- URWEIDER, Raphael
- Raphael Urweider was
born in Bern in 1974, studied German literature and philosophy in
Fribourg, and now lives in Berlin. In addition to his literary pursuits,
he also puarticipates in hip-hop performances and music for theater
and radio plays. He has won several awards, including the 1999 Leonce-and-Lena
Prize, the 2002 New York stipend of the Kranichstein Literary Prize,
and the 2002 3sat-Prize of the Ingeborg-Bachmann competition in
Klagenfurt. After his book debut, Lichter in Menlo Park
[2000, The Lights of Meno Park], Das Gegenteil von Fleisch
[The Opposite of Flesh] is his second book publication.
