- Woomy Schmidt was born
in 1945. During the 1960s he worked as a journalist in Essen, hamburg,
and London. His interest in music led to him producing records in
the 1970s. Since 1983 he has been working for the radio in Baden
Baden, specializing in popular music. His novel Beat, from
which the excerpt in Vol. 5, No. 3 was taken, was first published
by Rütten & Loening publishers in 1995.
