Sartorius was bon in 1946, grew up in Tunisia and lived in New York,
Istanbul, and Nicosia. He now lives in Berlin. In addition to his
poetry, published in five collections so far, he hasa been an editor
and translator. Since 2001 he has also been in charge of the Berlin
Festival.
