- OLIVER, José
F. A.
- José F. A. Oliver
was born in the Black Forest region of Germany in 1961 as the son
of Spanish parents. He studied Romance literature, German literature,
and philosophy at the University of Freiburg. He co-founded PoLiKunst
("Polynational Literature and Art") in 1980. In his poetry,
he reinvents and creates a new language; this is immediately visible,
for example, in the way Oliver uses punctuation in the middle of
words, breaks up words by hyphenation, and uses capitalization.
In 1997 he was awarded the Adelbert-von-Chamisso Prize.
