Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature
NAKITSCH, Marian
Marian Nakitsch was born in 1952 in Novska (Croatia) and lived for many years in Agram before finally being allowed to emigrate to Germany, where he currently lives in Werl. He writes in German. Thus, he is a poet of two cultures whose love for German culture and language has tragic aspects. When he was already of age, his parents left for Germany, where they have been living now for decades as German citizens. He was unable to join them because of health problems at the time of their emigration, so he writes in the language of a country where, for many years, he had not been allowed to live.
