Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature

Hugo Loetscher , born in Zurich in 1929, has established himself as a major Swiss author. He has travelled extensively and is a versatile author. The essay "The Botschaft aus dem Teerteich" is in part a blend of autobiography, fiction, and journalism (Loetscher started out as a literary critic for newspapers and magazines). His novels include the satifical Noah. Der Roman einer Konjunktur (Noah. A Business Novel; 1967) and the autobiographically informed Der Immune (The One Who Was Immune; 1975).

Die Botschaft aus dem Teerteich (Message from the Tar Pit) from Herbst in der Großen Orange (Zurich: Diogenes, 1982) : Vol. 5, No. 2
