HERMANN, Judith
- Judith Hermann was born
in Berlin in 1970. In the interview printed in Volume 7, Number
1, she talks about some of her experiences, such as being trained
as a journalist. Mainly, however, she talks about her writing, especially
her first book Sommerhaus, später [1998; Summerhouse,
Later] and its tremendous critical success. In quick succession,
she has won several prestigious awards, including the Kleist Prize
in 2001. Her second collection of stories, Nichts als Gespenster
[Nothing but Ghosts] was published in 2003.
