Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature

HEISE, Hans-Jürgen
Hans-Jürgen Heise, born in Pommerania in 1930, now lives in Kiel. A prolific writer of popetry and essays, he has won numerous awards; also a critic, he has given lectures on poetrics at the Johannes Gutenberg Universität in Mainz. His poems span a wide range of themes, including anthropological observations, political statements, ecological thinking; in addition, his poems show the author's interest in his immediate surroundings as well as in other countries, expecially in Latin America.
