- DRACH, Albert
- Albert Drach was born
in 1902 in Vienna and worked as an attorney until his emigration
in 1938 as well as after his return to Austria in 1947. In 1964
he published his first novel. In the 1980s, he experienced a literary
renaissance and was awarded, among others, the Büchner Prize
(1988) and the Grillparzer Prize (1993). He died on March 27, 1995.
His posthumously published novel, »O Catilina«--Ein
Lust- und Schauderroman ["O Catilina" -- A Sex and Horror Novel],
displays the complex syntactical style that is Drach's trademark.
