Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature

DELIUS, Friedrich Christian
Friedrich Christian Delius, born in Rome in 1943, grew up in West Germany. He has a Ph.D. in literature from Berlin. In his prose texts he adds the dimensions of critical analysis and satire to documentary literature. This he did most notedly with Unsere Siemenswelt [1972, Our Seimens World]. In this book he drove his "documentary satire" so far that the Siemens company sued him; the case was eventually settled out of court. His most recent book publication is Der Sonntag, an dem ich Weltmeister wurde [1994; The Sunday When I Became World Champion].
