- Maxim Biller
was born in Prague in 1960, the son of Russian-Jewish parents, and
has lived in Germany since 1970. He has a reputation as a controversial
writer, beginning with his column in the magazine Tempo.
His first book publication was the collection of stories Wenn
ich einmal reich und tot bin in 1990; his first novel, Die
Tochter, followed in 2000.
