Jürg Acklin was born in Zürich in 1945. He studied psychology, social sciences and German literature, worked as a teacher and for television, and currently practices as a psychotherapist. He also embarked on a literary career quite early; his first collection of poems appeared in 1966, his first novel in 1969. His most recent novels, Der Kangaruhroman [1992; The Kangaroo Novel] and Das Tangopaar [1994; The Tango Couple], were published by Nagle & Kinsche, and so was his most recent novel, Froschgesang [Song of the Frogs], from which the excerpt in Vol. 4, No. 1 is taken.
