VETERANYI, Aglaja
Aglaja Veteranyi was born into a circus family in Bucharest in 1962. From 1982 on she was a freelance actress and author. She committed suicide in 2002 in Zürich. Her debut novel, Warum das Kind in der Polenta kocht, was critically acclaimed, winning among other prizes the Adelbert-von-Chamisso Prize in 2000.
