Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature

Kurt Marti was born in 1921 in Bern, where he now also lives. He studied law and theology in Bern and Basel. From 1961 to 1983, he was a minister at the Nydegg Church in Bern. He has won many awards for his poems, stories, and essays. While his works typically are oriented toward the religious and political aspects of life, his latest book of poems, da geht dasein [1993; There Goes Existence], is more personal and, at the same time, more generally human in tone.

Herbstsonne und andere Gedichte (Autumn Sun and other Poems ) from da geht dasein : Vol. 1, No. 2

Danach und andere Gedichte (Afterwards and other poems) from Kleine Zeitreview (Munich and Zurich: Nagel & Kimche im Hanser Verlag, 1999): Vol. 6, No. 2/3
