- Otto A. Böhmer
was born in Rothenburg/Tauber in 1949; grew up in Westfalia; studied
philosophy, political science, sociology, and literature in Freiburg,
and now lives in Wöllstadt in Hesse. He is a freelance writer
and filmmaker. His interests in philosophy have also lead to severla
publications, among them is Sofies Lexikon, a short philosophical
dictionary that grew out of Böhmer's reading of Jostein Gaarder's
novel Sophie's World. Böhmer's noveld include Der
hammer des Herrn (The Hammer of the Lord, 1994). The excerpt
from Lady Rose is taken from a novel that was first published
by Reclam Verlag, Leipzig, in 1996.
