Dimension2: Contemporary German-Language Literature

Cyrus Atabay, born in Teheran in 1929, attended high school in Berlin and Zürich and university in Munich, where he has also lived (as well as in London) since the Iranian Revolution in 1978. His literary language is German; he has written many volumes of poetry as well as translated Persian authors into German, including The Rubáiyât of Omar Khayyám. In 1990 he was awarded the Adalbert-von-Chamisso Prize.
Cyrus Atabay passed away in January of 1996.
